DyStar has quantify the performance of its new reducing agent which it says forms little or no salt during the indigo dyeing process with its Cadira Denim system.
They tested a new, organic reducing agent ‘Sera Con C-RDA’ which works in tandem with Dystar’s 40% pre-reduced indigo liquid to eliminate the use of sodium hydrosulphite (hydros) in indigo dyeing – to make effluent discharge compliance much easier.
Results of the trials show indigo dyebaths contain around ‘60 times’ less salt than baths using powdered indigo dyes reduced with hydros, and ‘23 times’ less salt than using pre-reduced indigo liquids with sodium hydrosulphite.
