Around 2000 garment workers had gone on strike over pay and conditions in what is said to be the first major industrial action in Myanmar since last year’s military coup.

Thouse workers are employed by the JW factory in Yangon Zaykabar Industrial Park and they claim the company keeps cutting their pay while demanding they work longer hours.
