A leading workers’ rights campaigner says that around 200,000 garment workers in Myanmar have lost their jobs since the military coup at the beginning of February and around half of the country’s garment factories had closed following the coup

Several major brands have put a halt on placing new orders in Myanmar because of the uncertainty of the situation where more than 700 people have so far been killed in pro-democracy protests.
